About Me

Who I Am as an Artist

BIOGRAPHY

My name is Rhiannon and I am from just outside Denver, Colorado. My journey as an artist began when my fifth grade art teacher sparked my interest in acrylic painting, and since then, I have been working both as a self-taught artist (2016-2020) and as an art student at my high school (2020-2024). I take inspiration from the beauty of nature around me, particularly from the Colorado mountains which I am lucky enough to live in close proximity to.

ARTIST STATEMENT

As my art style continues to evolve, one thing remains constant: my work almost always depicts nature.

While I have explored subjects outside of natural landscapes, I continue to come back to nature as my primary subject. This is driven by an intrinsic desire to express the emotions that I feel when nature surrounds me: awe, wonder and reverence. The feeling, and certainty, that I am part of a living, breathing system much bigger than myself.

I aim to capture this feeling and explore my personal experiences with the natural world through my art. Recently, my work has begun to explore the relationship between humans and nature, as well as the consequences of human-environment interaction.
